ATV Discounter Complaint

November 6th, 2007 by admin

We purchased a Kazuma 90 Deluxe from ATV Discounter in TX on Monday, October 29, 2007. We were told that the bike was coming from their unit in Ft Worth and would be in Carrollton on Tuesday ready for delivery on Wednesday at the latest. When we called on Wednesday for an update on the order we were told that it was on its way from Ft Worth and they would have it ready by EOB. After never receiving an update on Wednesday afternoon, we called to find that nobody would answer or return our voicemails left on their salesperson cell phone. We called three times on Thursday before we finally got to speak with a manager that told us the bike had to be delivered from Houston (notice a different origination location?) and would be ready on Friday for pickup. We contacted the manager on Friday to find that the bike still was not delivered and now would be there on Saturday. We still have not received the bike to date (11/06/2007). We are having problems understanding why they would take our money (full payment) with promise to deliver by a specific date and yet when the date has slipped 4 times they are not offering compensation for their failure to deliver the goods as promised.

We finally spoke with the manager again on Monday, 11/05/2007 and he confirmed that they will refund my money but it may take them some time as they are not sure if it is possible to refund the debit directly to our account. These people are a scam and we will do everything in our power to see that their business fails.

We have filed a complaint with the BBB asking that the final resolution be the total refund of the ATV ($755.56) and refund of gas for driving to the location from Frisco ($30.00). Total requested refund of $785.56 which we think is more then fair.

Another Marital Test

June 11th, 2007 by admin

Dawn and I truly tested our love this past weekend while we worked day after day to complete our new pond and waterfall.  I have been told that during a few small outbreaks I made noises similar to wild pigs in heat!  It is great to know that your wife can just sit back and make fun of you as your swear at an inanimate object as if it is going to respond.  Anyhow, the result is awesome for our first pond.  We can’t wait to share it with our future guests! The Owens’ Pond

Man blown out of his chair when his niece says “I DO”

May 21st, 2007 by admin

On May 12, 2007, a loving uncle was attending his niece’s wedding in South Padre Island, TX. During the ceremony he questioned his niece’s judgment to marry the groom. It was said that when the bride said, “I Do”, that a strong wind came from the sea and blew the uncle out of his chair. See picture below:

A Day Out w/ Thomas

April 3rd, 2007 by admin

Dawn, Collin and I all went for a Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine on Friday, March 31, 2007.  Despite it being a little cloudy and windy we managed to have a very good time.  There were plenty of activities for us to do as a family and the train ride on the passenger cars behind Thomas was really nice.  Just as we finished our train ride the bottom decided to fall out of the sky.  A great day with Thomas the Tank Engine!Collin w/ Thomas the Tank Engine

Big Blue Political BS - Continued

March 22nd, 2007 by admin

Well, what I thought was the unthinkable has happened. Turns out that the IBM Executive Team has built a business case with my manager to keep me in Bentonville. This was also highly influenced by the customer as they demanded that I remain a resource on the account. Both of these cases put me in a great position to negotiate my “on-site time” in Bentonville. Not only have they agreed to promote me, due to my senior expertise, but they have also agreed that I may work from home and only travel when necessary. This entire deal has caused chaos between two departments within IBM. Looks like I will continue on my journey in Bentonville.

Big Blue Political BS

March 22nd, 2007 by admin

Once again I find myself trapped in the middle of two Execs fighting to have me as a resource on their team.  The flip side to this instance is that one of the parties has not been able to execute what they promised while still being able to build a business case for me on their team.  This has escalated to my Professional Development Mgr (who knows what she actually does) who contacted me this morning to explain that she may have to add a black mark to my career for accepting a position with another customer when the customer I am with still has demand for me.  My words to her were that if she feels the need to aid in tarnishing my career because I made a business decision that was a win-win for IBM then so be it.  I also proceeded to explain to her that such degradation will certainly result in higher personnel being involved.  You would think that she was making extra money for having me with a particular customer when in turn my billable time to a customer is actually what keeps her with a job.  This being said…screw the political crap within large corporations.  I am thinking that it is time to start looking at other business opportunities outside of Corporate America.

Another 1st Place

March 21st, 2007 by admin

Dawn, Collin and I took Hardtimes to another show this past weekend in Flower Mound and was able to score another 1st place win. This was our first time to a C.A.R.S show and I must say that they were well organized. The show was at Parker Square which was a very nice setting for nearly 200 custom cars and trucks. Friendly people, plush grass, nice business complex and very nice awards. Looking forward to attending more C.A.R.S shows.

The Wedding

March 20th, 2007 by admin

Well, as you all know, we are finally going to have an official wedding on May 12th. The wedding will be in South Padre Island on the beach. We are looking forward to having our closest friends and family there with us during this special time.

I have been waiting on this since the day I met Dawn. I knew from the time I layed eyes on her that we would get married someday. Hope didn’t fail me…Collin and I are blessed to have such a great woman in our life. She is the most loving, giving, caring and devoted spouse I have ever seen and we are lucky to have her around us everyday.

See you at the beach!
